Alice Nelson MS, LMFT has a unique professional background combining her public health research and clinical experience, which is interwoven with her performing arts background, to foster a more experiential professional approach.

Alice began her professional journey as a community-based public health lead researcher, where she focused on systemic change and health equity. In 2013, she transitioned into clinical work, bringing with her a deep commitment to understanding people within their broader contexts. Since then, she has supported clients ages 7 and up—including individuals, couples, and families—specializing in complex presentations, neurodivergence, sensory-affirming care, and trauma processing.
Alice has worked in many community based settings, promoting a collaborative and eclectic style. Alice’s work is rooted in authenticity, sustainability, and connection. Alice draws from a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each client’s unique needs. She often describes herself as a knowledgeable hiking companion—walking alongside clients on their chosen path, rather than leading them down a predetermined trail of healing.

Alice strives to intentionally and ethically collaborate with Nature within all aspects of her life. For over a decade Alice has been a practicing Nature-Based Therapist, and now teaches a Nature Centered approach through Grow With Nature offering supervision, consultation, and classes open to anyone interested in deepening their relationship with Nature. Alice believes in creating space for others to rekindle their own relationship with Nature—supporting not just individual growth, but a deeper sense of belonging to the world around us.
Through Grow With Nature, Alice also enjoys providing supervision/consultation to private practices, group practices, and larger behavioral health programs around ways that clinicians can incorporate going outside with their clients that is client-centered, ethical, and trauma informed.
Alice is connected to the Association of Experiential Education, where she often presents and helps to coordinate regional conferences. Alice is in process of pursuing her Certified Clinical Adventure Therapist credential in hopes to offer supervision through this designation.

Alice is also an AAMFT Approved Clinical Supervisor, and enjoys working with therapists at all stages of their professional journey from interns to therapists seeking supervision of supervision. In supervision, she blends clinical depth with practical support, helping therapists grow in ethical, client-centered ways while also developing sustainable and restorative practices for themselves.
