Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging Policy

“Thriving beyond normal.”

At Wild Peloria, our foundation is built upon the belief that healing blossoms in spaces defined by creativity, relationship, inclusion, and respect. As expressed in our story and philosophy, we commit to nurturing environments where every individual feels seen, valued, and free to explore their unique journey.

Who We Are

  • Alice Nelson, MS, LMFT (she/they) and Jamie A. Watson, LMFT, RPTS™ (she/her), founded Wild Peloria with a shared desire to challenge “burnout as the status quo.” Instead, they envisioned a space where both clients and staff learn to thrive beyond “normal.”

  • Our mission is to nurture resilience, creativity, and connection through compassionate, trauma-informed therapy rooted in relationships and reverence for the natural world.

  • Our philosophy of service centers on authentic connection, honoring each person’s identity and nervous system, embracing a strengths-based and neurodivergent affirming approach. We view play, imagination, creative expression, and nature itself as essential tools for integration, regulation, and healing.

Weaving Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging into Our Practice

Diversity
We celebrate the diversity of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, spiritual practices, neurodiversity, mindset, and family structures. We believe these differences enrich the therapeutic experience and deepen collective wisdom and understanding.

Equity
We understand that access to mental health care is uneven. To address this Wild Peloria:

  • Offers sliding scale options, striving to make services accessible regardless of financial circumstance.

  • Integrates neurodivergent-affirming, trauma-informed, sensory rich, and culturally humble approaches into our therapeutic offerings.

  • Honors systemic and intergenerational trauma, providing ethical, context aware, and responsive care.

  • Utilizes Nature-Centered practices, helping clients regulate, ground, and connect in ways beyond traditional therapy settings.

Inclusion

At Wild Peloria, inclusion means more than just being present, it means truly belonging. We welcome individuals and families from all backgrounds, neurotypes, identities, and cultures, and we intentionally listen to and reflect each person’s voice and story in our approach.

Belonging
True belonging means being seen, accepted, and supported to grow in your own narrative. Whether you are a client, staff member, supervisee, or community partner, we strive to walk alongside you, not as experts with all the answers, but as compassionate collaborators in your journey.

How We Practice This Daily

  • Clinical Care: We adapt our therapy to honor your identity, experiences, and pace, partnering relationally in a way that meets you exactly where you are.

  • Team Culture & Training: Our staff participates in ongoing mentorship, professional development, and supervision that strengthen culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and joy-centered care.

  • Community Engagement: We seek partnerships and outreach that expand opportunities for traditionally underrepresented or underserved neurodivergent families.

  • Shared Accountability: We embrace continuous learning and welcome feedback; our practices evolve as our community grows.

Our Vision Forward
At Wild Peloria, we believe the future of therapy is playful, just, healing, and deeply relational. We hold space for creativity, honor neurodiversity and
intergenerational stories, lean into nature’s wisdom, and center ethical integrity and cultural humility.

Inclusion starts here. You are welcome, exactly as you are, always.
